Accessible Nature Sessions

At Eco Suda, we believe that access to nature should not depend on how far someone can
walk, whether they use a wheelchair, or whether they can leave their room or home easily.
Our inclusive nature sessions are specifically designed to help people with mobility challenges
experience the beauty and fascination of the natural world in ways that are appropriate for their
individual circumstances.
Rather than expecting everyone to participate in a traditional outdoor activity, we adapt the
experience around the person.
Sessions can take place in care homes, residential settings, community spaces, gardens or,
where appropriate, directly within a client’s room. We can bring wildlife photography, videos, bird
sounds, nature stories, binoculars, spotting scopes and other visual experiences to the
participant.
Where outdoor access is possible, we can also explore suitable accessible areas at a
comfortable pace. The emphasis is on participation and enjoyment, not distance, speed or
physical ability.
A client may watch birds from a garden, explore wildlife photographs from a comfortable chair,
discover the behaviour of an elephant through a short film, examine a close-up photograph of an
insect, or simply listen to the sounds of nature while sharing memories and stories.
We understand that every person is different. Some clients may want an interactive experience
and plenty of conversation. Others may prefer to watch, listen and enjoy the experience quietly.
Our sessions can be adapted accordingly.
For care providers and families, this means having a flexible nature-based activity that can
include people who might otherwise be excluded from conventional outdoor experiences.
Our aim is not to replace the experience of being outdoors, but to remove unnecessary
barriers between people and nature.
Eco Suda brings our wildlife knowledge, conservation experience and photography directly to
the people who need greater accessibility.
Nature belongs to everyone. Our role is to help make the connection possible.
